Overcome Procrastination Today!
Time is Money, especially in the entrepreneurial world. Putting off things that need to be done and wasting your valuable time, is robbing yourself. Procrastination eats away at the time you have to complete a task, which leaves you under a time crunch to get it done. This rush now leads to less effort being spent on the project. Trust me I understand the " I work good under pressure" belief. Lets say you are amazing under pressure and you make something good. With a little more time, thought, and effort it could have been even better. This puts you in a disadvantage in a very competitive world of entrepreneurship. This leads to having more stressful situations that can easily be avoided. Here is are few tips on how to beat or avoid procrastination.
1. Do not hit snooze this morning!!
Your body is a working system, even while8 you are asleep. Your body has some things in place to help you wake up and go to sleep. About two hours before your body is ready to wake your temperature rises. This makes you more alert and less tired. When you hit snooze you send a signal to your body and brain that is confusing( is it time to wake up or not). To make sure you are giving your body and mind the right info, set your alarm and wake up when it goes off the first time, this will tell your body we are on the right track!!
2. Make a decision today and just do it!!!
Being indecisive is in essence procrastion. Think of it like this when can't make a decision its normally because you are conflicted with other options. The thing is you love the fact that you have options which makes you so prone to pick. One problem with this is that you end up telling yourself its okay. Making a decision at that time forces your mind to focus and choose. Just doing it will make so much difference. You will program yourself to not be so.
3. Drink a cup of water when you wake up.
Grabbing you a glass of water daily when you first wake up or going back could do. When you drink water right when you wake up it awakens you your mind and body. The water gives your organs a wake-up call.
4. Make a to-do list.
A to-do list is great when dealing with procrastion. Keep a spiral or journey with you at all times ( so you stay on top of things). You will use this to prioritize the goals for the day. The to-do list should be managed throughout the day. Make sure you if it doesn't get done today. Make it the first thing on your list tomorrow.
5. Do the hardest task first
When prioritizing you want to put the toughest or most time-consuming thing first. If you do this you will get the big or hard stuff out the way first making it easier to get the rest of your goals for the day complete.
At the end of the day, the only way to truly be procrastination is to just do it. Do not let yourself build habits that will be hard to change later. Declare your victory!!!!
